BRAND IDENTITY

Darrel Rhea, the Principle and CEO of Cheskin was incredible.  He was the first visiting professional / guest speaker I heard speak at Parsons. To this day, I still talk about his lecture with friends and also tend to bring up some of his examples in class discussions.  Darrel spoke about the key concepts of being a design manager and what CEO’s of companies in the future and today need to have in order to build and sustain the core of their company.

On November 4th, I went to the lecture, "Attitude: Why you need it to survive in today's market," which was a special presentation hosted by Parsons and Pantone, featuring marketing consultant, international designer and futurist David Shah.  The night was filled with very interesting material on social trends and how they will shape the environments, services and products we will face in the next decade to approach.

On December 1st, design and management faculty member Ian White hosted a guest speaker, Scott Henderson, a New York based industrial designer to speak not only on his recent endeavors, but also on the design process.  During his 12 years at Smart Design, Scott Henderson managed to obtain global notoriety from his 50+ award winning inventions and patents.
